The beginning
I started using DAZ Studio in January 2018, and what attracted me to the application was the availability of a free version which can be downloaded after signing up for a free DAZ 3D account.
The opportunity to use a free and feature-rich application at the start of my 3D-Art journey was ideal. The free application includes free “starter” assets for the various Genesis-characters. I was able to complete the in-built tutorials and created a 2D render within the first day of downloading the application.
The second thing that attracted me to DAZ Studio, was the large DAZ Studio community on YouTube that post “how-to” videos.
And finally, there is a large DAZ 3D store from which I was able to downloaded some free 3D assets to start my 3D asset library.
While my knowledge of 3D applications has increased over the years, I still use DAZ Studio for;
- Quick 2D renders
- Rudimentary 3D animation, and
- as an essential tool in my 3D Production pipeline
